I really hope you didn’t drink that 😅
Golden rule in Bali: once a monkey has had a sip, the drink is his. Monkeys can carry germs – never share food or drinks with them.
Thank you for letting him have some, he looked so skinny 🥺
Sweet thought – but sugary drinks and snacks are bad for them. Wild monkeys find their own food; feeding makes them sick and aggressive.
Why is this showing up on my FYP now?
Because Bali never gets old 🐵 Scroll on – below is everything you need to see these little guys yourself.

Monkey rules from our Bali guide
Five rules that save your drink, your sunglasses and your nerves – the most important part of any Bali guide.
- 🥤No food, no drinksThey recognise snacks, bottles and plastic bags instantly.
- 🕶️Pack away loose itemsSunglasses, hats, earrings and phones are favourites – especially in Uluwatu.
- 👀No staring, no teethEye contact and a toothy smile mean “threat” in monkey.
- ✋Never touch or feedIf one climbs on you: stay calm, arms down, walk on slowly.
- 🎒Zips closedThey open bags faster than you think.
⚠️ Rabies occurs in Bali. After a bite or scratch: wash the wound with soap and water for 15 minutes and see a doctor the same day. Check your vaccinations before you travel.

FAQ
Bali guide FAQ: levy, visa, tickets
CostsHow much is the Bali tourist levy and where do I pay it?
IDR 150,000 per person, once per trip, on top of the visa. Pay it only on lovebali.baliprov.go.id or in the Love Bali app – look-alike .com or .org “levy” sites are scams.
RulesDo I need a visa for Bali?
Most European passports get a Visa on Arrival for IDR 500,000, valid 30 days and extendable once for another 30 days. You can buy it in advance as e-VoA on evisa.imigrasi.go.id and skip the queue.
CostsWhat does the Ubud Monkey Forest cost and when is it open?
IDR 130,000 for adults and IDR 100,000 for children, daily 09:00–18:00 with last entry at 17:00. Be there at opening – the monkeys are calmer before the midday crowds.
TimingWhen does the Kecak fire dance at Uluwatu start?
Daily at around 18:00, in high season a second show around 19:00. Temple entry is IDR 50,000, the Kecak ticket IDR 150,000 – arrive an hour early for a seat facing the sunset.
